Benefits of Our Epoxy Garage Floor Coatings
Beyond the visually stunning impact of our custom designs. The biggest benefits of our garage floor epoxy coating system comes from the process for preparing the concrete before we install our multi layer epoxy system. It all starts with diamond grinding the existing concrete floor. This diamond grinding process creates a bond between the epoxy and “raw” concrete by removing anything and everything between the concrete and our coating system. This bond to freshly exposed “raw” concrete is what makes our floors bond for life. Simply using a liquid etching system to prepare a concrete garage floor for epoxy then rinsing it off is an invitation to future cracking, peeling, and ultimate failure that will leave the floor owner disappointed.
After your floor is properly prepared we use a epoxy prime base coat on it. This prime coat is designed to lock to the freshly exposed raw concrete and provide a solid bond so that the following epoxy coating and any sealing coats maintain their bond well into the future. Cleaning up spills and keeping your newly installed epoxy garage floor becomes a breeze and the floor always looks fresh and new.
Is Epoxy the Same as Garage Floor Painting?
The simple answer is no. Even if the same preparation techniques are used the end result of garage floor painting will always be failure. Although Epoxy and paint are both products that are designed to beautify and protect, in this case, the environments that they’re used in are what separates them. Paint can be used on concrete walls or even porches without many issues. But a garage floor has to stand up to chemical spills, and hot tires that put undue temperatures in direct contact with the epoxy. Beyond that one has to consider the weight factor of your vehicle moving daily onto and off of your epoxy coated garage floor. This hot tire & weight in motion factor can quickly destroy a painted surface due to the lack of temperature and pressure resisting characteristics incorporated into paint when it’s manufactured.
